Due to the high level of abandonment of Federal Government projects across the Federation, today December 16, 2020, the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila along with House have resolved to find lasting solution to this menace wrecking our nation year-in year-out.
The house has today directed the Ad-hoc Committee on the Investigation of Federal Government Abandoned Projects Chaired by Hon. Ademorin Aliu Kuye to immediately commence investigation into all Federal Government Abandoned projects including Roads, Bridges, Structures, Housing Estates, Schools etc.
The committee was today on the floor of the Green Chamber given the full authority to investigate all abandoned Federal Government projects, reason(s) for the abandonment, cost of the project, total amount already received by the contractors, level of completion and to come up with the way forward. You will recall that the House of Representatives in February this year inaugurated the Adhoc Committee to investigate all Federal Government Abandoned properties and assets Chaired by Hon. Ademorin Kuye representing Somolu Federal Constituency.
With this new enhancement of functions, it shows that the Committee has not only impressed the House, the Committee has been able to solve some issues surrounding some abandoned projects in the Federation. This is a sign of pure accountability, diligence and high level of commitment on the part of the Committee.
