UPDATE ON NATIONAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (NEMA)’S PALIATIVE TO THE OLALEYE MARKET

Yesterday the 13th of July, 2020, our ever agile DG, Hon. Layo Benson and few Apex members of AKG held a very fruitful meeting with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) official at their Lagos State office to discuss the way forward regarding the items to be distributed to the Olaleye Market men and women who lost their hard earned business equipments and money to the inferno that engulfed the Market on June 3rd, 2020.

Representing our proactive MHR, Hon. Ademorin Kuye from Somolu Federal Constituency are Hon. Layo Benson (DG), Alh Z. Jimoh, Mr. Kolajo Maiyegun and Hon. Owoalade, Oba of Somolu was represented by Amuludun of Somolu – Chief Remi.

Also, the Iyaloja of Olaleye Market and two of her executive members were present while NEMA was represented by Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye.

It was all agreed that the distribution of the palliatives will be carried out to the affected traders at Olaleye market on Thursday July 23rd, 2020 while building materials will be kept with the State Government pending the determination of which organ would reconstruct the market.

The food stuffs to be distributed include rice, beans, garri, groundnut oil and tomato paste, while building materials are 600 bags of cement, Bundles of roofing sheets, construction nails and roofing cardboards.
